I worked in the Biochemistry Department at Monklands Hospital in Airdrie, Scotland, for 30 years and I was a Consultant Clinical Scientist and Associate Clinical Director for the Lanarkshire Laboratories when I retired in 2007 - I continued to work on a part-time basis as required (or when they could afford to pay me), initially at Hairmyres and then at Monklands until the end of April 2014.
The site as originally designed by David, showed this picture with the caption "I don't know what it's of but it looks impressive".
It is the HITACHI ELECSYS 20/10 © immunoassay analyser and, as you can see, we had two of them at that time (replaced during the summer of 2002).
